Information Architecture, Research

the challenge

Develop a system for organising existing content whilst being considerate of future growth for Be.Bendigo’s business endeavours

the scope

3 weeks, 1 User Experience Designer, Refresh Information Architecture

the problem to solve

BeBendigo has grown, and so has its website. They are currently struggling to manage new content and initiatives as the site navigation has become overcrowded with key information lost to users in the mishmash of content placement.

the process

Interview key stakeholders of the business to develop an understanding of their needs, pain points and expectations
Develop an understanding of the content through a content inventory and audit
Complete basic user analysis through profiling
Explore structure through card sorting activities
Develop taxonomy based on card sorting and key user flows

the outcome

Creation of a more robust IA which focuses more on the offerings of Be.Bendigo as well as their goals for future growth
Creation of a kick off point for wireframing, user testing and UI

next steps

Develop full site based on UX/UI
Review taxonomy and assess structure as content grows
Inclusion of subscriber content offering Be.Bendigo the opportunity to monetise current offerings
